CorvetteForum Members Meet Up at Corvettes at Carlisle 2025

Talking with our members at Corvettes at Carlisle illustrates what makes the car, the show, and our community so special.
The vast majority of my contact with Corvette Forum members is like a drive down a one-way street. I sit here in my office and craft a story that I think would be of interest to our members. It gets published on the website and on our social media channels, and… that’s it. But my editor had an idea for Corvettes at Carlisle 2025. Hand out some free t-shirts and actually meet and talk with some of our members. You know, interact in person like people used to do back in 1953 when the Corvette was brand new. I was all for it.
Okay, maybe I was a little apprehensive that someone with a Cacti Green C8 would be waiting for me in the parking lot, but I was willing to take that risk.
I am really glad I did. I met some great people that day, and it really opened my eyes to what the Corvette Forum community is all about. Multiple members told me how much they appreciate the other members in our forums. I was told by more than one person that they can ask any question, no matter how obscure, and sure enough, someone in the forum has the answer.
It was great to hear this first-hand.
The Meet Up

I met our members behind the main stage with a box of free t-shirts at my feet. The first folks to show up were a lovely couple from Massachusetts. They have been coming to Corvettes at Carlisle for many years and made the trek again this year in their Corvette. Then, other members slowly began to arrive.
None of the other folks knew each other, but everyone had a common bond.
Conversation flowed easily. People were generally happy to see each other and make new connections. I asked folks to hang around for a bit after they got their shirt so I could take a group picture. Most were happy to wait and chat. One member even walked around the stage a bit for me, wearing his new Corvette Forum shirt, trying to get the attention of other forum members to meet us.
The Conversation

Once an article gets published, I don’t often see any conversation about it. Unfortunately, my schedule doesn’t allow me to spend much time reading any comments on social media. Occasionally, I will get an email from a member, and that is usually to tell me that I screwed something up in an article I wrote. I do my best to make sure everything I write is accurate, but mistakes happen.
I told the group of members at Carlisle that you all don’t let me slide on anything! And I appreciate that. You all know your stuff, and I appreciate that you hold us all accountable. The level of knowledge here is truly impressive. Talking with some of you, even for a short period of time, made that very clear.
The Camaraderie

This is what it’s really all about.
We were all strangers standing in the fairgrounds, joined by a passion for America’s Sports Car. Everyone was comfortable striking up new conversations. People were excited to meet other CorvetteForum members in person. And who doesn’t love a free t-shirt?
The cars are wonderful, but it is how they bring people together that really makes them special. I heard stories about husbands and wives sharing the Corvette lifestyle, Corvettes that have been in the same family for decades, little kids catching the Corvette bug early, and so on. We are thankful that CorvetteForum can be part of that experience.
I appreciate the time that folks took to come over and say hello. Hopefully, we can do this again soon and get an even bigger turnout. I also want to thank all of the forum members who bring so much value to the community. Keep sharing your knowledge and holding me accountable. Of course, if you read something you like, I wouldn’t mind hearing about that once in a while, either! I hope to see you on the road again soon.
