1977 Greenwood GT Corvette for $27,000?

1977 Greenwood GT

It may be rare, but this Corvette needs some work. Is $27,000 too high or way too high?

If you’re a fan of Corvettes, and have followed their great history, you’ve probably heard the name John Greenwood. For those who don’t know, Greenwood was a huge Corvette aficionado. He loved to race them, and he loved to build them. He didn’t just like to restore random cars. No, he and his brother Burt would take cars and build them out to look like the cars that John used to race.

Recently, there was an ad for a special type of Corvette on Craigslist, and it has a special link to John Greenwood. The 1977 Greenwood GT is one of 32 vehicles that were built to resemble John Greenwood’s famous racecar. These cars were built in 1975, 1976, and 1977. Each were given a unique number that was riveted on the vehicle. The car in the ad was 24 of 32.

Now, if this car were in pristine shape, it may be a collector’s dream. It’s a mean-looking Corvette that would really stand out in a crowd. Unfortunately, judging by the ad (which is now deleted), the car has seen better days. The paint job is subpar, there are clearly issues with the body, and there are no pictures of the interior or engine.

However, with all the Corvette fans out there, this may have ended up becoming someone’s dream car. Even in the shape it’s in, the car is still rare, as mentioned above. With some TLC, this could be a really great addition to someone’s collection.

While the ad is no longer available, Jalopnik was good enough to screenshot the information. So, would you pay $27,000 for this vehicle? Only 10.59 percent of Jalopnik readers would have. What say you?
