Does This ’71 Corvette Pass the ‘Great Barn Find’ Test?

Ever wonder what really makes a “fresh barn find” for a Corvette?

Sure, there are some cars we’ve come across where it’s pretty clear. But how do you really define it in a way that most die-hard ‘Vette fans would agree on?

Is it low miles? The rarity in the find? Or the condition of the car given its model year? Perhaps a combination of all of the above?

Either way, it makes you wonder if this Green ’71 Stingray, which recently sold on eBay for $7,650, fits the mold –given that “barn find” was one of the seller’s major pitch points.

The Corvette, which looks to be in decent condition, only has 47,400 original miles. But after reading the description further, we learned that the engine doesn’t run, the car’s brakes don’t work, and it has a few rusty areas that need repairing.

In all fairness, though, the seller does wrap it all up by saying it’s a “great candidate” for restoration. He definitely got that right.
