Some of the rarest and most historically significant Corvettes on earth are ready to cross the block in Indy.

Mecum Auctions never fails to offer up a large slate of amazing cars, and its 33rd annual Indianapolis auction is no exception. Over 2,500 vehicles are set to cross the block at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on June 10-18. And that includes many exceptional, rare, and historically noteworthy Corvettes.

In total, nearly 170 Corvettes are up for grabs at this year’s Indy sale. But rather than make you sift through all of those listings, we went ahead and assembled the five coolest, rarest, and most notable cars we could find. So sit back, relax, and soak in these amazing rides.

1967 Corvette L88 Convertible

This incredible ’67 L88 droptop is the cream of Mecum’s proverbial Indy crop. And it’s fittingly referred to as the “ultimate” L88. This car was the last ’67 Corvette to leave the factory, and the only 1967 L88 Corvette to retain its complete original L88 engine. Over its racing career, this special Corvette racked up almost 400 podium finishes and 150 wins, including 52 consecutive victories. It’s also perhaps the best-documented example in the world, with an extensive paper trail since day one. For those reasons, this amazing L88 carries a stout auction estimate of $4-$5 million.
