Corvette offered a number of engine options for 1969. In addition to the new 350 small-block, buyers could order a 427 in various guises. One of the wilder setups was the 435-hp L71 motor. Equipped with optional aluminum heads it came with three two-barrel carburetors.
3. 1970 LT-1 Small Block
A new 370-hp small-block LT1 V-8 debuted in 1970. Intended for racing, it included solid lifters and redlined at 6500 rpm. The LT-1 could be ordered as part of the ZR1 package or a stand alone option.
