OPTIMA Presents How-To Tuesday: New Headers and Exhaust for Your Corvette

Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 LS9 V8 Engine

I really thought about making a play on words about “heading to a new engine compartment” on the title of this week’s How-To Tuesday, but I just couldn’t pull the trigger. I thought you guys would all point fingers and laugh at me. So hopefully you’ve got that out of the way and you’re just genuinely interested in reading up on how to swap in new headers and exhaust for your C5 or newer Corvette.

I would be surprised if most of you had not given at least some thought about changing out the headers in your car, I know I have. I couldn’t tell you how many times I have come within one click of a mouse that would’ve ordered new exhaust for my Corvette. Hundreds of times, if I had to guess.

Here’s the deal, I don’t consider myself very handy when it comes to heavy mechanical swap outs. But with this week’s How-To article, I could at least think about doing it! The article goes through, step by step, in detail, the process of swapping out the headers and exhaust on your Corvette. You should really take a read through the article. I actually thought that the process would be much more time consuming and involve many more steps, I have to admit, I was surprised.

Unfortunately for me, good or bad fortune is yet to be determined, I don’t have access to the necessary tools to make the process come off the page. But we would love to hear if you have committed to this project, and we hope that you have detailed the process yourself. Who out there has tackled this swap out? Let’s see the before and after pictures and bask in the glory of your amazing horsepower gains and exhaust notes!
