Default C4 Bose HU Installation; Help Please

I am attempting to re-install my head unit in my 91 ZR-1 after service at Dr. Dons. What a PITA. My question is: I Have it in (partially?) but cannot get the tabs of the HU to seat against the framework (its a 1/4 inch short). Is it supposed to meet flush against the framework (where the screw holes are), or is there meant to be any space between the framework and the tabs of the HU? I can probably call Dr. Don's on Monday, but would like to finish it up tomorrow.

I'd really appreciate any input. Particularly any suggestions that would make getting this thing back in a little easier.

it should just drop right in. Make sure there is nothing binding in the back.

it might be tight, but it should slide right up.

Thanks, Bogus. I kinda figured it wasn't right, but after putting it in and taking it out 4 times, trying to get it to fit, wishful thinking took over. Maybe it will work better tomorrow.

hm... just wiggle it. there should be no hangups.

You may have to give it a shove to hold it until the first screw is in, tho.

The two cable connectors on the back of the Head Unit have to go through the cut out on the back left side.

Otherwise the Head Unit will not go back far enough which sounds like your problem. Just another poor design by the General.
