[C5] CD Changer-Based Interface Systems For iPod
My wife and I are doing Route 66 in our 2003 in two months, so I have to make a call now - does anyone have any experience or opinions on the various iPod interface systems that use the CD-change connectors such as:

just bought an ipod2 car and about to install. They give 3 protocols that the dip switch can be set to. Which one will a 2000 C5 have.

okay got it working by trial and error, its the ec protocol with the 2 and 8 on and the rest off (on the dipswitch)

[Update] It Worked!
Well, I got the Peripheral Electronics iPod2Car and installed it tonight in my 2003 'vert and it just works!
So now I have a follow-up question - can you easily (and non-permanently) remove the CD-changer itself? I'd love to have the extra room on our Route 66 trip...
