One is thicker than the other. I'm sure there would be a difference, how much, not sure.

here is a link to a comparison chart
http://www.b-quiet.com/compare.html

I just purchased 150 ft of B-Quiet Ultimate, 24 ft of Lcomp, and 54 ft of Vcomp. I will try and see if I can get two cars done with that but I think I will come up shy. I plan on doing both the inner and outer panels with the Ultimate and doubling up on the Vcomp where I can. The place I can't double up on the Vcomp I will use the Lcomp (better stuff but over twice the price ) My doors have been done already but will probably add more.

im just trying to figure out if its worth twice the price or not. Will 100 sq ft cover the entire car?

what do you guys have? The extreme or the cheaper stuff? Think the expensive stuff is worth twice as much? Would I be better off putting a layer of the FK down before this stuff or vice versa?
thanks!

Are there any odor issues with the materials containing asphalt products?

Im trying the ultra cheap alternative, after I read alot about the different types of insulation on car audio forums. I picked up 50ft of eDead 1.5 at 1.50 a foot, and a 20% discount on top of that if you are a registered Sounddomain user

We'll see how it goes. The damn shipping on any of this deadener material is horrible, no matter what you buy.

www.elementaldesigns.com

I'll try it out for the hell of it. If anything, it cant hurt.

how much was shipping? By Edead 1.5 do you mean the SE stuff? How did you apply the discount. That stuff is quite heavy compared to dynamat too a .5lb/ sq ft.

Forget frost king, period.'

The heavier the dampening material, the better it does. The idea is to add weight!

Also, I would call ED and ask if it is OK to apply their product to vertical surfaces.

I bought smoe Edead V.2, and the site made no mention that it wouldnt work on vertical surfaces, so I was stuck with it when it all failed. And according to them, I should have called, instead of expected it to work as well as every other dampener on the market.

Secondskinaudio has a new liquid dampener coming out. Stuff is supposedly like peanut butter, and it hardens. Supposedly, this is the best way to go. It is the way i plan on going.

Sorry I should have been more specific.

The adhesive failed, and the stuff came off the panels.

Kale, did you clean the door panels first with acetone or some other solvent? I dont think I read specificallly where you had to do it, but I kinda thought it was a given for preping a door for some adhesive.

as far as shipping for eDead, its $19 for shipping for my 50 ft....to apply the sounddomain coupon, you have to look it up on their site, get the coupon code, then when you are about to finish your online order, it asks you for whatever coupon code you have, and subtracts the 20 percent.

I used Dynamat Extreme...and no odor at all.

It also sticks to vertical surfaces very well.

Yeah, I scrubbed those doors. they were brand new doors as well. I've put Stinger Roadkill on other doors before years before. No problem with those.

You can get a fairly decent one from radio shack for $30- get the analog one. Its not pro grade, but is decent for comparing measurements.
