Default aux button?
What else can it be used for besides the factory CD changer? I am hesitant to replace the headunit as my last Pioneer DVD player caught my car on fire!

You can install a satellite radio to the aux input. You probably can install an I-pod connection to the aux input.
Do a search on either to see what others have done.

anything you want that has analog audio output.

mp3 player, xm, turntables, dvd-player, atari, etc...

you'll need an aux input interface like the ones from pac audio.
