Hey guys,
Recently bought a C5 (1999) coupe, A4. Its all stock in every manner. The stereo system is ok...not exactly how I would've expected *BOSE* to be like, so I want to do a little upgrade. I can live with the front speakers, since they seem to be the only ones working. The rear speakers don't seem to have ANY sound, unless I fade into them to see ..oh yeah, they do work... (but hardly any music from them)...
I don't want to add any Amps, or other gadgets (unless absolutely required). Just wanna change the rear speakers to something nice, that would at least balance a 4 speaker system (with front ones). I need to know what's the size on my rear speakers. I thought they were 6.5 inch round, but some guys have said they're 5.5 inch round. 2nd question - which is *the best* speaker I can get for the rears. I'm looking at Diamond, Kenwood XR610 (highest in frequency..etc). My 3rd question - will simply a change with a better speaker improve my sound, and by how much.....
I really need your help and input, before I end up spending the $$ I dont have on something I don't want...Thanks in advance forum..
The front twiddlers are 3.5" in all C5's. If you want to change out the rears, you should also change out the fronts since that is where most of the sound comes from that you hear. Click here for great illustrated instructions for how to take the door apart.
The rear speakers are 6.5" in a coupe, and 5.25" in FRC, Z06, & verts.
