I am "upgrading" the sound system in my 94 Vert and I'm in a delima on where to put the subwolfer. My choices are build it into the little compartment in the rear deck or have a tube 10"x12" tube with quick disconnects so that it can be moved.
Mine is installed in the rear storage compartment behind the passenger seat. Cant see it with the lid closed and I never bother to open it so it is completely stealth. I put an Elemental Designs 10" sub in there. Here is a pic with the lid up.
I had the same dilemma with my 87 vert. unfortunately I do not think any of the verts have a storage compartment. I went with a 6" Bazooka 100 watt amplified sub. (EL6A-HP). It puts out more bass than I need. I don't think that the 8" would fit with the top down. It is strapped to the back wall. I installed quick disconnects to the power and speaker wires if I need extra space in that giant trunk area on the verts.
Pr'y not relevant to your C4, but here's what I did with my 98 Roadster. Part of the enclosure is underneath where the top folds down, The rest protrudes into the trunk, with just enough room for a small bag and "stuff".
He's got a 94 vert' ....so he's got the acoustics and cabin gain of a baseball field.
Ive got a ton of pics of C4 vettes with subs in them, including vert's....Just PM me if you want a zip file of all of them. I dont think the moderators want me to post 120 or so pics here. Looking thru them gave me a few ideas, so it may help you make up your mind on what ya want to do.
