Installing JL Stealthbox (C5)
1. What adapter do I need to buy to install from the BOSE factory head unit - where/how much (in Southern California)
2. Should I route the front door speakers thru the new amp powering the sub ? does it improve on sound quality and loudness.
3. Do I have remove the whole head unit to install the wires and RCA cables or can I access the headunit from the rear ?
4. Anyone use Rockford Fosgate amps to power the JL Stealth, which model is recommended
5. where do you route the RCA adapters ? and where do you get the consitent ground ?
Thanks in advance for the following replies from the Vette Forum..

Ill answer what I can lol
1) Not sure...
2) If you have the Bose system, the door speakers have thier own
amp, and I wouldnt suggest running them through an aftermarket
amp unless you are going to replace the stock speakers.
3) unless you have REALLY small hands you wont be able to,
besides its only 2 7mm or 10mm bolts once you have the center
console out which you have to remove anyway.
4) Sorry Kenwood and Infinity amps here, RF amps are supposed
to be ok, no personal experience though.
5a) Thats going to depend on where you mount your amp, i routed mine
down the drivers side footwell to the floor then along the tunnel to
the waterfall then up to my amps behind the headrest. I ran all power
connections for the amp on the passanger side/tunnel to separate
signal and power.
5b) Battery... I run 2x4ga to the distribution block one pos one neg
to ensure I have a good ground. If you dont want to do that
the seat bolts might be a good ground, though im just guessing to
be honest.
I am running a fosgate amp to power the sub. I changed the rest of the system to fosgate speakers and alpine amps.
I mounted both of my amps under the vert top in a custom made box,
I grounded the system to the pass seat but I am changing that to the b piller.
The only thing that I can figure out it waht wire runs the power antenna from the stock wire harness, everyone says the pink wire but I dont have a pink wire!!!
1. I did buy an adapter, but instead of fussing with it, i Just spliced into the two rear speakers to get the signal. There used to be a techtip helping to figure out which wires to do so.
2. Already answered
3. Yes
4. I installed one first, but dear-ole-dad crossed the wires at the battary and...poof...i have an alpine amp now--works great
5. I routed speaker wire up the console, behind the seats and down the right side of the car (I mounted my amp vertically along the back wall (I have a coupe). My power wire went up the right side of the car, and through a hole in the passenger footwell to my optima battery. I ran 4 gauge (defenitly overkill). I ran my ground through the drainhole below the sub and grounded it to the exhaust plate (I have magnaflow exhuast)
All-in-all i believe my install is very clean, and it sounds great!! (Except for my passenger door speaker rattle, but that's a whole different story)
