Most likely the amplifliers in your speakers are blown. (I think)
There's a reason the Bose system is more commonly referred to as Blose. A couple of the speakers in my car are completely shot as well.
I guess it doesn't really bother me, though because my radio still works out of a couple speakers. It was like that when I bought the car, and after driving it for 4 years, I haven't bothered to fix it yet.

you can not use other speakers with the bose system. With Bose each speaker has it's own amp located with the speaker. That allows the head unit to send a very low power low impedance signal out to the speaker. You can either repair the amps or change out the entire system. There is much more info over in the audio section, but if you want to repair what you've got I recommend Dr. Don's http://www.doctordons.com/ he does great work and has the best prices around.

There are 6 speakers in the 90 Bose system, 4 have amps mounted right at the speaker....To hear only static, you would need them all out, plus the two small speakers in the front, which have no amps...Likely? Sounds to me like an antenna problem, maybe it is unplugged, or won't go up...There is a relay under the rear hatch cowl that runs the antenna up and down, check this, you can also test the antenna itself at this relay...Could also be the dash unit needs repair...

not to disagree, those are good sugestions and could very well be the problem. From my experiance it is very likely that all 4 could be dead. All 4 of mine were very dead and had to be rebuilt by Dr. Don. By the way he gets $75.00 each to rebuild the amps and guarantees the work for life.
Thanks for the suggestions I will try all before I decide to buy new ones.
I should add, that a month after I had the car and the problem started I took out all the speakers and replaced all the capacitors, going by the bose amp tech tip. two of them worked the passenger side two and the driverside rear, for a minute before it went dead.
And then eventually they all went dead again.
Another weird thing I noticed is that when I had the radio on and turned the A/C on the fuse blew out. So I was only allowed to have one or the other on at one time.
This didnt really make life hard because the radio didnt work anyways.
I will check the Neg battery cable, the antenna connection, I dont really know how to check the dash unit.
Do you have an aftermarket? Which one? Is there an aftermarket to fits into the the dash without having to cut and shape so it looks somewhat like it actually came with the came instead of something that completely looks after market?

Give up, Bogus. You know that there are only six people (including you and I!) on the whole forum who actually post in the proper forums!
Everybody else just posts all their questions in General.
Did you all know there is an Audio/Electronics section here?
Yup... From the top menu, Forums ==> General Corvette ==> Audio/Electronics.
And get this! There is even a C4 Audio FAQ!!!!
Did you know I actually posted in that section already?
And seeing how this is a "general discussion board" I really dont think anything is out of line as long as it pertains to the C4.
But I will go and check out the FAQ in the Audio and electronics section but at the first look they didnt get specific enough to answer my question, hence the question in the "general discussion board".
I have exactly the same problem with my 91.
After several discussions and a post in this forum, I'm changing it out ot a Sony after market with no visual modification.
Saving the original Bose equip for the next owner if that ever happens.
