Pre out question

Pre out question
On my single output Pioneer 1-1/2 din receiver, the output says
Pre Out "R"
My guess is that this is just a pre out for the "rear" signal only, no front signal
Does this sound right?
I just bought a new PHOENIX GOLD Octane-R 4.0:2 2 Channel Amp 2 X 75 watt, to power my 2 front 6.5 " Infinity Speakers,
and I will use my 2 X 150 Jensen watt amp (temporarily) to power two 8JBL GTO 8" subs
The next purchase should be a new 200 x 2 or there abouts and then 2 new subs,,,, little by little,,,

This is just a guess but most likely the "r" output does stand for rear and is most likely non-fade (does not fade with fader changes on the deck to front/rear). This is the output you would want to use for your sub.

The new receiver will fix this, it has 2 Pre Outs.

You could just hook it up to the rear channel, then power your rear speakers from the stereo amp front.
Or get an amp that accepts hilevel outputs.
Or get an amp that accepts hilevel outputs.
