I have mine behind a partition and it certainly muffles the sound some but a bit more gain and tuning and it is not really noticeable

Good to know. Any particular brand of AMP that I should avoid? Seems I'm satisfied with a 24DAC head unit by Eclipse or Pioneer or maybe even Alpine with front speakers by Focal. The brand of sub-woofer and amp are up in the air. Also I'm not sure if I need a separate amp to run the door speakers and the rear woofer or one amp would be sufficient?
Much like anything you get what you pay for. If you spend $120 on a 4 channel 75x4 amp you would be lucky to see 30x4 clean watts. On the other hand if you spend $500 on the same specs you would likely see 75x4 or maybe even 82-88 watts x4. Most higher end better quality amps come with a birth sheet that lists the actual tested watt total per channel.
I try not to name brands to stay away from, but if you can buy them at an Automotive store (kragen etc) a Walmart, or similar volume retailer I would stay away. Your money can be better spent.
Xtant, ARC Audio, Mcintosh, Brax, Tru, DLS, Genesis, Diamond Audio, JL Audio all make very well respected quality amps.
