stock bose question?

stock bose question?
today i was listen to my music with the volume down low and i hear this craking and muffed noise coming from my 8 inch speaker. i turned it up with some bass and had no bass coming from it the other front speaker was fine. So could i have a blow speaker? ant got one they would like to give me 
jus curious!!!
also i havent had this loud enought to blow it in my opinion!

gee... I would wonder, too.
First, Bose drivers are junk. So it wouldn't surprise me.
Second, and more likely, isn't there an amp under the front seat? If so, I would blame that... with no bass coming out the 8s at all, that's where I would be looking.

I'm having the same problem. how do you check the amp? do you have to pull out the seat.I thought the amp was mounted to the speakers but never had them out.

I think you will find that the C5 systems used a separate stand alone amp.
the head unit powers the twiddlers, and the 8" is powered by this amp. I am not sure what all is up with the rear speakers.
