I am goign to modify my Radio bezel in my 89. I will be using a 1996 bezel. Keep in mind I have a 1991 interior.
ANyway I need permanently add strength to the back of the panel in a couple spots before cutting the panel, what stuff can I get that will harden like the panel itself, that it pliable to work with while applying?
I used an ABS epoxy (bought at Home Depot) for building up areas when i did the console on my C5. It's VERY strong and easy to work with. Build up the areas in layers. And plan on sanding a lot to get to the final desired shape. You could use strips of basla to build up/shape/stregnthen the console as you build it.
show us some pics as you are doing this. I want to get into the bezel mods sometime this year. With all this rain lately, looks like we can spend a lot of time working on the cars instead of driving them
