My C4 installation
8" subs to rear speaker boxes and an amp for them are already installed. I believe I managed to make the rear boxes airtight. Also power from battery + ground wires and rear speaker wires are in place.
Tomorrow I will be start hu and front speaker installation. We have already figured out the necessary wiring for battery, ignition, ground, illumination and antenna in my cars wire harnesses. So I don't expect problems in that area.
I will install all new speaker wiring, none of the cars will be used. Front speaker boxes will be fabricated by myself. Today I recovered the front speaker covers and hope to be able to use them with the new boxes.
I noticed that my new head unit (Blaupunkt Las Vegas DVD35) has very thick face plate. It must be twice the thickness of my old Pioneer. I am afraid that this will cause it to stick out from the center console and it will look silly.
My question is: I am sure others have also seen this problem but is there a good way to solve it? Grind the plastic rear wall inside the dash and somehow install the hu deeper?
Here is some installation pics of what has already been done:

Finished installation plates

keep up the good work

We also grinded some of the backwall off to make the wiring fit better.
After some experinmenting with hu EQ settings and sub amplifier settings the system now sounds very nice.
Hmmm...the face plate on the Blaupunkt hu is so thick it will stick out!
All wiring ready and the crossovers seem to fit under the hu
Power connection done!
Speakers starting to fit too
Hey, it works!
Hu looks pretty good in there
