For those of you that have done this sludge method. ABS glue/MEK for making custom consoles. I honestly did search before posting, could not find this out. What grit paper did you start with to remove the excess sludge? Once the sludge is removed and you move onto bondo, how did you step the sandpaper grit grades down? Also can a dremel bit be found to assist in this long process or is it just hand labor only? Thanks Mark

i have a horrible time with the dremel but i do use it to knock down the high spots in tight corners but end up spending more time fixing the over sanded areas. I use a random orbit sander with 60 grit to knock down the high stuff (the one that uses 1/4 sheets) then i jump down to about a 100 to smooth out and i think i end up with 220 to get everything smooth. Do not use bondo. bondo wont really adhere well. just use a thicker version of the sludge to fill the deep stuff. also, dont be afraid to use your finger to spread the sludge. mek will dry out your skin but i've used it with out gloves and i only have a mild twitch from it now you may want to go higher then 220 if you're going to be painting it with auto paint but i thnk 220 will be fine if you're going to use a texture paint.
if you have pin holes and what not then you can use spoty putty/glaze but it should be very thin.
I should have purchased the bigger can of ABS glue! Thanks, I was trying not to PM you again.
Back down to the garage......again I think I will be down there for a bit.
