XM problems....

Default XM problems....

I called the XM folks to enable signing onto the web site to manage my account. I have changed email addresses and needed some help in setting up a new one.

An American lady answered the first call and told me to use my birth date for a password. After that call I tried and could not get onto the account.

I called a second time and got someone that only spoke broken English but he understood the problem (I think) and put me on hold to find out how to fix the problem. The line went dead after a couple of minutes and then I got a dial tone......

I called a third time and got another person that spoke only broken English. Even though I was getting a little perturbed I was polite since this person had nothing to do with my experience so far. The line went dead so I think he just simply hung up.......

I called a fourth time and got a lady that spoke English fairly well. She gave me a password to use and told me to try it after waiting about ten minutes. I tried for the next hour to no avail.

Yesterday I emailed the problem to XM and asked that they send me the password by email so I can figure out if there is a case sensitive problem or whatever......

No reply so far this morning.......

Bottom line: I have been polite with the folks there but I am receiving no help at all from the staff there. I have tried to use their system to remedy this problem but am only met with incompetence, rudeness, and childish antics.

I have XM in my new GMC in addition to the skytracker 2 that I bought 3 or 4 years ago. I will continue to try to work with XM but if I were to buy a stand alone system today I believe I would give Sirius a serious look.......

I can't argue that point at all, I like the XM content but my god their customer service has gone down the crapper. Not that is was awesome to begin with.

My brother has dealt with Sirius because a year was included with his wife's Grand Cherokee. He had a very similar experience trying to get the online streaming account setup. Maybe they've improved but as of about a year ago it was just as bad.

Unfortunately the nature of giant call centers leads to these levels of "service" and that's whether the person is American, Indian, Irish or Phillipino.

LOL talk about service. I had an issue with a Worst Buy Store Manager yesterday about a mismarked item, and when I snapped a couple pics of the item/price and then him and his name tag he yelled at me and told me to leave the store. I called corp and they said the price that rings up is the only one they have to honor and the store manager has the final say in all transactions. I asked them if they knew what false advertisement was and if they liked having customers, and they said that it was the customers choice to come back or not.

I guess some companies really don't care about the customer anymore. Needless to say I will never shop there again, ever. I don't care how low they price things or what they try to do to sucker me in. I will pay their competitors double the price just so Worste Buy doesnt get my money.

I have been thinking about Sirrus...just wonder how many good stations there really are...

Did car audio for a few years at circuit city, we always had problems with both xm and sirius I found xm to be better. As far as the price thing we always honered the sticker price.
