Default Matching Sub to Amp

I just purchased a 400W California Mono Subwoofer Amplifier - due to was recommended on this forum, Link-- http://www.profilecaraudio.com/amplifiers.htm

I am trying to research a sub that will work perfectly with it, I was looking at the Elemental Design, can someone tell me what the difference in having 1 or more voice coils, and how that effects hooking it up to an amp? And also which Elemental Design Sub in a 10" would work the best for the amp I purchased.

Thanks -

A single or dual voice coil just affects the way the sun can be wired. Since that is a mono amp its makes its most power at 2 ohms meaning you would want a single voice coil 2 ohm, or in the case of a dual voice coil like the elemental designs you want a dual 4 ohm. The KV series of subs would better suit you but might I recommend the 13kv over the 11kv due to box size. You need to find out what size your enclosure is and generally the 13kv (12" model) works better in the size most the stealth enclosures is.

PentaVolvo - Thanks for the quick response, So the model I am looking for would be the 13Kv.2 D4, is that correct?

I am looking into building my own box this weekend, unless I can find a bargain somewhere, Maybe that will get my wife off my butt for purchasing a radial arm saw a couple of months ago, that she seems to remind me that I have not used yet...

Thanks

13kv2 D4 is correct. Do you need dimensions for the sub box or do you have them already
