So while I'm doing my stereo install this winter I figured I might as well hit up the frost king mod as well.
I know most of you guys recommend deadening the doors as well to get the most out of the components, will the frost king work for this as well?
Also any thoughts on the frost king from the audio guys. There are plenty of threads in the C5 section but not so many here. How does everything fit back in with the extra stuffing underneath the carpet...
when i did the frost king things were tight and i couldnt get some of them to fit right. What i ended up doing was pulling it out of my trunk area and putting it up front. after i pulled it all out to do the liquid deadner, i put the stuff from the trunk and used it up front to keep the heat down in the front area. I do want to add the closed cell foam in the trunk adn other areas. im not sure if the frost king will fit in the doors. it may be too thick i think. you can always take some extra from what you have left over and play around with it adn see.
You can get an actual noise barrier product for about the same price as Frost King. However, frost king still has an advantage in that it has a foil backing, so it deflects heat.
First i would concentrate on adding damper to the panels that resonate badly. (large flat surfaces, back wall, behind the seats, doors.)
And then place the acoustic barrier around the car.
