C5 amp cover back wall guy?
Hey,
Someone posted pics of his install where he made a cover for the amp that was mounted on the back hatch wall. I wanted to copy this, but can't seem to find it with a search. Anyone got a link to this, or maybe the guy will read it and figure out what I want. Thanks. :seeya

how well do you think the carpet matches the OEM in your C5? I'm doing something similar to your idea and am having trouble finding carpet that looks right?

I'm thinking about mounting mine (when I get it) back there too Eric. This is what I've found out so far.
1. You'll have to relocate the PKE antenna or go aftermarket.
2. You're not going to want to screw anything to that wall as the gas tank is right behind it. I'm thinking about gluing in a sheet of plywood. Putting the factory carpet back over it. Then mounting to that. Making sure the screws aren't long enough to go through it.
Let me know if you've come up with anything else.

Sorry, it was not my idea. I just happened to print out the instructions for future use and it had the url on it.
Can't say how it matches up because I haven't done it yet.

Showed this post to a friend with a C5...looks like Speed-Racer has started something, cause now everyone I know with a C5 is interested in this!

Yeah I put one of my amps that way on the wall the way speed racer did my panel is more flush and doesnt have a fan. So far no problems with the amp. Carpet matches nicely. 2 bad the other 2 amps dont fit there.

The carpet is suprisingly an exact match. Go figure!
I have shown this to Wicked C5 and we compared notes.
I have only seen black carpet so far at that shop.
