Not sure how much it weighs, I meant to weight it before I put it in but that didn't happen. I'd guesstimate around 40 LBS WITH the subs. I'll have it out probably this week so I'll find out for sure what it is.
The Eclipse is nice, no add-ons yet. Only thing I'll really use is the memory option when I get motivated one of these days.
I am curious on the weight as well, once I get my truck finished I will be reworking my vette install and I want to make something that is basically completely removeable with a couple quick connects for the wiring etc. Any pics of how you route the wiring?
My second question is other than a press to fit how else is in held in place? I bought a partition to keep things from flying up to the front, you certainly don't want that thing coming loose
I got it out and weighed it this morning.. With 2 S8L7's (10lbs. each) and my Kicker zx750.1 amp (8.5lbs) it tipped the scales at 61lbs. A little more than I thought but it puts the massive box right around 30lbs.
Regarding how it fits/will it come out? Not very likely, it has to be angled and finagled into place and then is actually pretty secure once pressed in place. I have had to stop very fast and it didn't move an inch. It would be all but impossible to come straight out and smack you in the head even in a collision-but I'm not gonna test that out!
***I just built another box for a member and it tipped the scales at a mere 23.5 LBS!!!*** I'm sure I could get it even lighter depending on your needs/wants of a specific set-up.
Wow ... looks nice. I'm actually looking to do something like this weekend except with a partitioned back also. I'm using ED SQ10's so hopefully I can get it pretty thin.
