Just moved the ground from the factory ground point on drivers side, to passenger seat rail.
Also ran new wire to left speaker, and disconnected right speaker.
Connected the HU to the battery in my other car. It's making clean power on its own.
There must be something IN the power of the car causing the issue... I just cant imagine what...
The whole issue started immediately after I bypassed my EQ to test the sound without it.
There just isn't any way to fix this.
The only thing that makes sense, is that there is a 'signal' in the power grid, which the heavily shielded RCAs pick up on their own, which the HU picks up on, but for some reason the amp DOES NOT..... Bizzarre.
If i pull the RCA from the head unit, and touch the middle conductor to my wedding ring, it makes the EXACT same noise.
Also, I plugged in the WRONG rca cable, and still got music from my speakers (though faintly, this RCA was not plugged into the amp.) It was within a foot of the cable that was.
Furthermore,
I only have the LEFT speaker connected. If i connect ONLY the RIGHT rca to the RIGHT output of HU and RIGHt input of amp, I STILL get music out of the Left speaker, at about 15% volume.
ok if im reading this correctly, you grounded the ring and the problem went away.
This is a notorious problem with pioneer radios basically anytime you dick with rca's with a pioneer radio you have to unhook the battery, i will explain this best i can. Basically when you unplugged or plugged something in something for a split second tried to ground out through the rca frying the bridge inside of the headunit. Basically when you went from the ring of the rca to the the chasis of the headunit you were remaking this connection that fried out. If the radio is new i would send it back and ask for a new one otherwise yes running a wire from the outerring on the rca to the chasis of the radio is a perfectly find way to fix this its done everyday.
Kale glad I could help you out. Ive diagnosed that problem for 2 diff friends over the phone before thats why I was sayin ground the rca right from the get go haha. Hopefull all is good now
sounds typical, i used to work at circuit city and i had a similar issue with a pansonic in my friends car i found a work around that involved buying a brand new then throwin the old one in the box and bringing it back they need to back there damn products if they are prone to failure... the workaround will work fine for ya
