I saw this on the This Old House Hour. Its pretty cool, but if it does go into safe mode, it pretty much self-destructs and you need to buy a new one.
Cheaper and less painful than a new finger I suppose..

yea i guess the safety trigger needs to be replaced after an incident kinda like an airbag and i read some reviews that it more often than not, toasts the blade as well. But saving fingers and no medical bills other than the cost of a band aid is well worth it. Especially if you do this type of work everyday.
