it has gone back into the display demo mode it seems like. Don't know how to change it but maybe you can look through your manual for something like that.

I think you should (carefully) tear that POS out of your dash and send it to me.

But seriously, I'm pretty sure that you have to turn the head unit off (with the car on) and then use the controls to turn the demo off. I think Menu... It's been about 2 years so I could be wrong.

if you hit the display button enough, it will stop... I think.

I have a 7998 (and no, Kale, you can't have it ), but I don't remember off hand how to get it. Check the Alpine website, they have the manual still available there.

The display cycles through the different visuals....that's just how it is, Personaly it's the only feature of my 7998 that i don't like. I've read the manual many times trying to figure out how to lock a single pattern but that's just how it's programmed.

According to pg 16 of the OM, If you press the display button repeatedly, you can select the display you want and it will remain there for a little while longer, but eventually go back into the cycle.

That can't be right - Mine never cycled through the displays. That's the kind of thing tha would have made me pull it out of the dash and throw it out of the window.

Try this:

press and hold SETUP for 5 seconds.

You might have to use forward to go through a few things to find Demo

I think then BAND turns on or off the demo mode.
Then hit SETUP again to exit.
