I having a very issue with installing a new Panasonic head unit with current Bose speakers. I got it installed, looked great and sounded great. I tested it with key in the accesory position. Everything was great. When I started the car to listen to it. The speakers worked for about 2 minutes and then the relay kicked them off. It will do this every time without fail. Has anyone else had this issue and btw I have the special adapter for the Bose speaker system. Please help!

Sounds like your new HU might be to powerful for the Bose speakers.
Is it a Mosfet HU??
If so those have Pre amps and could be sending to much power to the amps in the Bose speakers and thats why its kicking off.
You might be better off getting some after market speakers and ditching the Bose all together.
Is your new radio a self contained unit. In other words, put power and ground to it and connect the speakers. If it is, it its probably not designed to work with amplified speakers. It may just need a basic speaker. Or is it really replacing the original Boze head and you are utilizing the radio unit behind the passenger seat. If not, then its not a radio head but a complete radio unit.
your sending a high level audio signal to speakers that have thier own amps, this will not work.the stock radio was low level to the amps and the amps would send high level to the speakers.replace the speakers then if you want you can install a preamp if you have rca out at the back of the head or just run high level straight to the speaker.
Accel audio makes an adaptor for the Bose systems. If your head unit doesn't have preamp out it gives the bose system a low level signal. It's also adjustable. Check Circuit city or Bestbuy they both usually have it.
One problem you may end up with though is engine whine. The bose amps and the after market head unit use seperate grounds. Creating a ground loop. Sometimes tough to get out. Most of the time we removed all the speakers and install custom mounting plates and new speakers. It was never cheap. if you can do this yourself you can save a few hundred dollars.
