I tried it by itself, hooked in line with my Sirius module and hooked in line with the original XM module, all with the same result. The XM1/2 button disappears, the system doesn't recognize anything being connected there.
I set the DIP switches with 1 & 5 in the down position as shown in the instructions. In addition to those combinations I tried them with & without the iPod plugged in at power up, all with the same result.
So, it doesn't work at all, or it has the side effect of disabling the sat radio module? I hated XM and never renewed, so I really wouldn't care if I had to give up that input for the iPod to work. The Belkin FM transmitter solution I'm using looks great, but has a lot of hiss and static.

I had the same initial reaction from the Nav radio when I installed the PA-11Vette. After all call to the customer service, it was suggested that I shut everything down for 5 minutes and then restart. I did this and everything worked as advertised. Anyone try this?
thats a bummer. so is there any other hook up for the c6 w/ nav
that will allow the ipod to run through the stereo? other than a fm xmtr. some type of cord that will also charge the unit while it plays, not the head phone jack.
you can tap into the line from the xm receiver for sound and if you use the right cable you can charge the ipod as well, this will render XM useless... pm me for specifics

Steve Germany added this thread from C6 General to the C6 Audio FAQ a while back:

Good Luck

I decided to give that a try since I'm heading out on a road trip, no dice. Even let it sit for close to 30 minutes.

I hate that did not work. I know how bummed out I was when I made the connection and XM just disappeared off the Nav screen. I boxed the whole thing up to send back, but after trying the "fix" mine ( the USA SPEC PA-11-vet) worked as described. it is not the smooothest interface, but I do have the IPOD active now.

thanks for the suggestion but i am running the sirius tuner in the car and i don't want to lose that. i was hoping for some type of aux hook-up beheing the head unit somehow. like, using the cd changer option and having a aux. hook-up instead of the changer. have you heard of anything like this?
I talked with the guys at Coastal today. Seems there is a specific harness for the 29-bit version of the Navigation than for the Class 2 Navs in our Vettes. Since the cables have the exact same connecters, just a different arrangement, they fit our cars but do not work (GM apparently did not key the connectors differently).
Coastal is sending me a new harness via overnight UPS. I will install it on Friday and let you know if it works. They assured me it does.
TheKomoman: you might want to call or e-mail them and see if they can get something to you before you leave. I let them know that the forum had a thread going about this and others had non-functional units so he should not be surprised to get your communication. Their e-mail is coastalchat@coastaletech.com

I'll let you know.
Thanks,

Interesting info, Shan, thanks. I've NEVER heard of them being this responsive.. what the heck is going on there. But too late on the "before I leave" part. I'll be VERY interested in your results. As this unit was bought from my brother's GM LAN Acadia, I'm not worried about it, I'm just going to install an aftermarket head unit soon anyway.

It probably helped that I mentioned that they were getting a bad name on these forums. Oh and I told them I would contest the charges on my card by end of day today if I did not hear back.

I just e-mailed them and am awaiting their response. I mentioned this thread.
I hope you have good news to report, as I will order one, as soon as you reply.
Actually, I do. I received the new Class 2 Harness tonight (the pinout was different, same connector). Works great.
There a few things you should be aware of...
1. The playlists do not show up on the 6 mainscreen buttons (where you fav XM channels are. You must scroll through them using the catalog buttons. Still works well and it shows the playlist name as you scroll through.
2. Song info is only displayed once, right after the song changes. After that, is just says ipod## (## is the track number). You must press the INFO button to get the song name and artist to show up.
3. BIGGEST NEGATIVE: There is no random play. And once you switch from one playlist back to the other, it starts on track 1 again.
There are some good positives. It switches between songs MUCH faster than between MP3s on CD. The audio quality is great. Charges the Ipod. There is room inside the waterfall to enable you to mount the box on the XM tuner and still put the waterfall back in (vert only).
If none of those things will bother you, then I reccomend the product. I am not sure what I am going to do about mine...seriously thinking about sending it back and opting for a new stereo system which will have much better integration.

Thanks for taking the lead on this and getting it to work. I will now need to decide, as shuffle play is an important feature. With 6000+ songs, we often just put it on shuffle and enjoy.
As I've read other ipod threads, trying to find the most applicable equipment, it appears something might be on the horizon, but for now, I think I will go this route, then, like you upgrade my whole system.
Lastly, it's good to know the unit will piggy back on the XM module and still fit under the waterfall.
If you go into it aware of its limitations, you'll be happy. Definately much better than swapping CD after CD.
When you purchase, make sure you click on the "If you have Corvette click here" link. If you don't you will get the 29-bit cable like I did and it worn't work.

Shan, please bear with my ineptness. I went to this link: http://www.coastaletech.com/GM_IPOD_LOCKPICK.htm , but did not find the phrase you put in quotes. Maybe I'm being too ****. Did you mean the tab on the left of the page that reads: CORVETTE IPOD?
When I selected: CORVETTE IPOD , it took me to the page that, at the top says: THE 2007 GM IPOD AND IPHONE LOCKPICK
CAR INTERFACE IS NOW AVAILABLE!!
It does say, as indicated below, that it would be for the CLASS 2 radios, so this is the correct unit to purchase, right?
