It's been a busy 4 days. I flew up to Pittsburgh, PA on Wednesday, bought the car and got it back to Houston Friday evening.
Yesterday, I put the LockPick unit in and it works just like you indicated, which is adequate, but I think I will replace it if/when something better interfaces with the Class 2 system. I left enough cable for the IPOD to lay in the seat or cup holder, as I think there is too much heat in the console for the IPOD to sit in while driving.
On another note, I used the NAV system to get back and it worked very well for me. My wife drives a MB CLS-500 with a NAV system and I feel the GM system was easier to use and had a more pleasent voice.
I have a 2007 C6 coupe, just had the Coastaltech unit installed and it works fine. Given that the Vette NAV does not allow much in the way of display it is about as good as it is going to get (at least from what I am told). The unit works according to the manual. I didn't install myself as I had no clue as to where the XM unit was exactly nor how to get the panel off. The only issue I have seen is that some of the XM stations have changed on the XM1 screen all by themselves. Sound quality is great and for the price I have no complaints

Reason: Left out vendor
Well I just ordered one and should have it on the left coast by Friday.
The website is horrid!
However, the gal taking my order over the pone was very pleasant to deal with
I also asked that they have a GM lock pick solution for the 2007+ Corvettes so that we can mount a backup camera as well as enter destinations while the car is moving.
Ok, now I found this thread too about this product. Someone mentioned that they are using this with the SIR-GM1? Is that true and is it working in series with having the SIR-GM1 connected?

I don't know if someone has had that combo, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. I tried the non-vette version (before they bothered to mention there were 2 versions ) with my SIR-GM1 and it didn't work.. but that had nothing to do with the Sirius module. Since the SIR-GM1 was designed to appear to the Vette radio has an XM module I think it would work just fine with that iPod Pick.
FYI - I have since installed the iPod pick as-intended in my brother's '07 Acadia and it works like a charm.
I'd agree that it should work. All of the functionality of the Lockpick is in direct interaction with the factory head unit. What is behind the lockpick shouldn't matter. At least, that is my assumption.
well I guess I wait for the GM solution, thanks for letting me know it has no random. BTW, I talked to them and they said none of their unlockproducts work with the corvette.

There a few things you should be aware of...
1. The playlists do not show up on the 6 mainscreen buttons (where you fav XM channels are. You must scroll through them using the catalog buttons. Still works well and it shows the playlist name as you scroll through.
2. Song info is only displayed once, right after the song changes. After that, is just says ipod## (## is the track number). You must press the INFO button to get the song name and artist to show up.
3. BIGGEST NEGATIVE: There is no random play. And once you switch from one playlist back to the other, it starts on track 1 again.
There are some good positives. It switches between songs MUCH faster than between MP3s on CD. The audio quality is great. Charges the Ipod. There is room inside the waterfall to enable you to mount the box on the XM tuner and still put the waterfall back in (vert only).
If none of those things will bother you, then I reccomend the product. I am not sure what I am going to do about mine...seriously thinking about sending it back and opting for a new stereo system which will have much better integration.
Ya, the lack of random play is a killer for me too. Decided to bite the bullet and replace the head unit...and everything else. Not really happy with the quality of the factory Nav over my old Garmin either...in fact, quite the opposite. The GM nav is twice as hard to use, much less accurate and not nearly the features. I am going with a Kenwood head unit that include Garmin nav.
has anyone called coastal and confirmedit doesn't do random play??
My brother has random set on the iPod itself (the one from the main menu under settings) and it DOES random play his playlists controlled via the Lockpick in his Acadia NAV.
Well thats better, but it really should be on the screen it self.

You're butting heads with the limitations of a stock head. They have to work with the software that's there, they can't add. If you want true control, ditch the stock and go aftermarket, it's the only way to get all of the features. No guarantees the GM will give you what you want either, it has the same potential limitations.
very true, I tried to call them, wanted to confirm if maybe there is some way that it can do random.

I had not had a chance, but had planned on just turning Random Play on the Ipod on to see if that worked. Glad to hear it does. I need to revise my review post.
