C5 > How much noise?

sorry, they are PDX amps. Never had an amp with a gain switch, thought that was just marine stuff.
Anyway,
Removed ipod connector, unplugged fm antenna, still get static. OK.
Connected RCAs to the amp in my other car - I still get the hiss.
the HU came from this car, so that amp is only there because I'm too lazy to pull it.
So, 100% for sure its the head unit, in this car. Strange, that it started so suddenly. I wonder if I did something to it when I put it in the car.

When Greg and I installed a pdx amp in a c6 a few weeks ago, it had a bad power block straight from the factory. If you move the power terminals it would cut in and out. Maybe something similar is going on with yours. But as these guys are starting to narrow it down, it does seem to be a HU. But having that experience with that amp straight out of the box, I would be leary of the pdx
