So I have been looking all over the place on info on how to replace the rear speakers on my C5 coupe. I can't find any info on how to do this. Lots of install info on here BUT for the rear speakers. I'm guessing people don't install them when getting rid of the BOSE. I want to install some. Anyone have any idea how to change them out.
It could be as easy as pulling the cover but I don't know. Either that or pull the whole plastic surround out. I'm sure someone has done this. Any help would be great. Bought the speakers but don't want to tear into it and mess something up.
I might take you up on that. I am going over to a friends tomorrow to do a speaker install on his jeep. Was thinking of tearing mine apart at the same time. If I don't I will give you a call and see what your schedule looks like. I finally found the info. Apparently the rear covers are pop off so It would be a breeze.
Have an amp and subwoofer installed. Just need to wire in the new speakers. Was just looking up how to take the door panels off.
The C5 comes apart so easy. It took me about 6 hrs. to remove all of the interior when I did mine. Before installing, I did put in sound deading (I used B-Quiet - a lower cost version of Dynamat Extreme). I am busy after work Friday, but should be available all morning Saturday.
pop the metal grills off as said, undo old speakers, throw a couple spade clips and plug in new speakers, whole process is a 15 minute job, if you stop for beer.
Thanks for the help. Hopefully it is only a 15 minute job for the rear speakers. Fronts will be a little more involved. Bought adapters for the front speakers. Just have to figure out where I am going to mount the crossovers. Pretty straight forward though.
