My XM radio doesn't work correctly on my 2008 C6 with NAV. Most of the time, it won't play anything when switching to XM mode, and just shows "XM Locked" at the top of the screen (though it still shows the preprogrammed XM channels). Sometimes it will pick up a station, but it is very unresponsive to switching channels, adjusting volume, etc. Eventually it will stop playing and show "locked" again. Other than XM, the stereo seems to work fine in other modes.
I'm taking the car in to the dealership Wednesday to have it looked at. I was there today and spoke with the service manager about it, and he'd never heard of this problem, and neither had his technician. Has anyone else here experienced something like this with their XM?
BTW, I don't really care too much about having XM, but since it's part of the functionality of the system, I feel inclined to get it fixed.
My guess is there's an issue with the unit itself. The XM units are programmed to the car's VIN like the radios as an anti-theft measure. Unlike the radios, it appears that the XM units cannot be re-programmed. Looks like the dealer will need to replace the unit.
