Paging 99HT - Amp Install
Signal CD/Radio Color code
LF out C4(9) TAN/BLK
RF out C4(10) LT GRN/BLK
LR out C4(11) BRN
RR out C4(12) DK BLU
Shield C4(14) Bare wire
You can use the front or rear pre-amp outputs. It depends on how you want the fader to work. Most people use the rear. Use long RCA cables with one connector cut off to tap the wires. Make sure you get good power and grtound connections to the amp.
Do a search on this subject, it has been covered numerous times before.
No I didn't get my money back because they had already put holes in the back panel so I couldn't back out of it. I had to buy a new HU. I got it at 25% off, didn't pay any installation fees or for the three parts that were needed to connect the aftermarker HU to the Bose Speakers. I WAS SO PISSED!!!
That was on my 99C5, I don't have that car anymore I now have a 2002. I'll be damned if I'm taking my new baby back to them. DO NOT GO TO CAR TOYS ON WESTHIEMER IN HOUSTON TEXAS!!!!!! :nono: They do not know how to work on C5's.
Can't seemed to locate the detail instruction for hooking up an amp for the sub. I didn't order my 02 couple with a CD changer (I think I should have, its gonna be here in about 3 weeks). Two questions if you have time. 1. Do you still have the detail instruction on hooking up a sub amp. 2. Can I buy an aftermarket CD changer unit? if so, what is the pin configuration? basically what brand do I need to buy? Where can I buy the wire harness? Will it be compatible with the CD HU?
Thanks,
You can add a CD changer any time on the future to a C5. Be sure to buy the GM unit that does NOT have the RF interface. It takes longer to install, but has better sound.
