Is there a cable adapter that would go between the radio and wire harness so I can hook up a sub amp or do I have to cut/tap wires: for the right and left rear speakers at the back of the radio.
Is the signal at the rear speakers full range or is the bass filtered out?

Solder on some female RCA's and plug it in between the head and the factory harness. The signal you'll get is line-level full range.

Ok so I got my car back today after they redid the wiring so it runs from the low-level at the headunit rather than through the rear speakers which was giving me a mono sound.
The result is night and day! Now there's actually a separation between left and right which gives everything a much deeper, spacial sound. Also I noticed the overall quality of the sound is cleaner, and I can achieve higher volume without any distortion or muddying of the sound. The way they had it before was just too muddy sounding once I really got into it.
Again, thanks to everyone who helped me figure this one out and big thanks to pentavolvo, for taking the time to speak with me about it as well as talk to the installer to make sure he was on the same page!
