90 Bose Gold Amp Failure
I have a 90 with the Bose Gold System. I have too much money into
it to warrant a swap out. The latest issue is a bad front amp. I did the
usual capacitor change out with no success. Some time ago there was
a posting of someone who advertised all bose amps repaired for
about $60.00. Does anyone have his email address?

We also have a 90 drop top and have had to repair all the components in the Blose system. The recommended repair agent for my money is http://www.doctordons.homestead.com
Don has repaired over a dozen HU/Amps for me and his work is always right on, he warrants his work and stands behind what he repairs.

The car only has 24k miles on it. This past summer I had the Cd repaired for $225 and the year before I purchased two
almost new rear amps for $100. I would hate to trash the whole system just for a $60 repair. The smart thing to have
done up front would have been to replaced it then. Ah there goes that old hind sight thing again!

Yeah but you are spending $60 to fix a $10 POS. The CD is made by Panisonic and was designed and built 12 years ago. The speakers are $5 drivers and all the amps combined are the equivilant of a $100 25wx4 channel amp. Sorry but that's the truth of it. Why throw more good money after bad. The systems stank even when the car was being bought new. I was an installer then and we used to verbally abuse owners then with them back then. When I priced my first car the salesman tried to show me the Bose and I laughed at him, loud. It also made me go somewhere else as he obviously was lying to me if he was trying to sell me on the sterio. Bose, hate them more than Bin-Laden and lima beans. Why not by a $60 boom box. It will sound better and you can take it with you after you park.
