That connector is the industry standard. The GM connector is tiny and allows almost a 90 deg bend of the cable. You will need two adapter cables, it may be hard to find both sexes.
What is most important in an FM modulator is the signal to noise ratio and the distortion. Being very accurate in frequency is also important, but most new modulators on good CD changers are very accurrate in frequency.
You also need to know that the modulator does not generate interference on the AM or FM bands and that the loss through it when off, is not too large.
