help with a nice portable GPS unit???
I want to get one for my pops. He would use it on his bike and in the car. Something with voice if possible would be nice as well. Would like to stay around $300. Does anyone have any experience?

Go Garmin for sure. We have 4 of their devices. Easiest thing to do is to check their site to see all the models to narrow down what you need/like then head to that auction site for the best deals on them.

on the Garmin, hands-down winner.There are also a number of sites out there that make motorcycle mounts for specific GPS units. Friend of mine mounted a Nuvi 660 using a handlebar mount and then ran power line back to his batt and it works great. I don't know if their cycle-specific units are worth the extra $ - their benny is supposedly being more glove-friendly.

Right on guys. I am actually doing a stereo install for pops now on his Streetglide and he asked about the GPS. I can just tap power from the headunit and hard wire it in. Thanks for the info. Looks like Garmin is the winner.
