Default Easy Question

Okay so I have run a 0 gauge wire from the optima battery through the firewall grommet to the rear of the trunk on my C5.
That is for the amps/sub

Do I need to run a power wire from the battery to the headunit or use the factory power wire from the old bose harness? It is a double din nav/dvd player and Ive run new wires for each of the new speakers too

Thanks

there is no benefit to giving the headunit more power directly from the battery with thicker wire?

appreciate your reply.

Power wire is fine, just run a new Ground to a metal ground source, or to the battery or amplifier if you get noise.

I'll add to Thmpur's comments and say that you should upgrade the grounds as well. Run the same gauge from your battery to the frame, and make sure that you clean the frame such that there is NO paint between the frame and ground lug. You can use some "No-Ox" if you are concerned with oxidation.

I would also upgrade the ground between the engine and the frame. Consider upgrading the wire between the alternator and battery if you are drawing high current levels. (I would fuse it on each end, just to be safe.)

Remember to post pix after your install is complete.
