Lol! Thanks Kale, but I have to say, you are on top of things when it comes to car audio! I appreciate your review on my box. I try to build what I would want to go in my car and nothing less.
Are you able to make custom boxes (10's) for the recessed areas in the very back corners. I've seen one pic of these, don't remember where, but I'm thinking about doing this.

I had this in my Z06 and really liked it! The only problem is that the side compartments are not big enough to put hardly any subs in due to airspace. I had Diamond Audio D308 subs in there and it was awesome! You don't have enough room there to build any boxes out of MDF and house a sub. You have to make tops for the sides and fiberglass it to the car itself to seal it. You can also make fiberglass boxes for the sides which was what I was going to do, but it is very time consuming and many folks are not willing to pay the price ($500-$600 a pair).
dennis i just found this thread. can you tell me what the principal differences is between the stealth and hangover boxes are?
also, what thickness is better to go with? sorry for the noob questions but i'm getting interested in upgrading my stereo again.
also another question. i prefer "punchier" bass than how low i can go rap music type stuff. is it recommended to go with say two 10" subs instead of one 12" in this case?

Hi, I will go ahead and answer your questions. The difference between the hangover box and the stealth box is mainly personal preference. The hangover box has slightly more cu ft. than the stealth box, but the main difference is how do you want it to look in your car. Do you want the box to be hidden from sight or do you want the box to fit like an existing compartment cover would, but built with an integrated sub. For Z06's and the like without compartment covers I would recommend the hangover box. For coupes and verts with the compartment covers, I would recommend the stealth. Again though this is still persoanl preference. When you choose your sub, you will also need to pick the type sub box accordingly. The sub may be too deep to fit in a stealth box, so your next alternate choice would be a hangover box. The thickness is also another personal preference. 1/2" MDF is a little lighter than 3/4". For subs around 400 watts or less it wouldn't hurt to go with a 1/2" box. The way the box is designed with all the angles, there will not be much flexing of the wood with 400 watts or less. Now something like a JL 10w6 or so, I would recommend a 3/4" box. The beefier the sub, the beefier the box needs to be. Many racers tend to like the 1/2" box due to the lighter weight. Choosing your sub depends on alot of factors. On a dual 10" sub box, subs need to be chosen that will work in such a small enclosure. Polyfill can help trick the sub into thinking it's in a larger enclosure. With that said, a 12" would probably be what you are looking for, but keep in mind that due to the size of the magnet structures asscociated with them, that not many will fit in a stealth box, but some will fit in a hangover box. I myself like 10" subs. The JL 10w6 in a stealth box is one of my favorite combinations. It also would be a great sub in a hangover box as they have grills specifically made for these type subs. If you need additional assistance in choosing a box to meet your needs, just let me or Dennis know.
