Like Jason mentioned above, I want clean, tight, musical bass. Not big, sloppy, splashy "how low can you go" bass.
So, one speaker or two? Also, do you make boxes that would fit two 8" subs and still leave room to mount my JL amp in the center recess? Or is that going to compromise the sound I'm looking for? TIA.
I think you would be happy with a single Elemental designs 11kv.2 sub in a stealth enclosure. I have made boxes for a dual eight setup, but not with an amp. It just takes up too much space in the center well to provide efficient airspace for the subs.
I am looking at getting a stealth enclosure for my 2000 Corvette coupe. The sub I am looking at using is a single 10" Image Dynamics IDQ10D2v3. Does this sub work in a stealth box so I can use the OEM compartment cover on it without it "rubbing" and creating sound issues?

Yes, this sub will work in a stealth box with no problems. OEM compartment cover will fit and allow room for the subs excursion.
thansk for the inpout Jason

No problem, Dennis! I figured you are busy, which is a good thing.

Ported boxes are usually used where space isn't a issue. They are usually bigger than the typically sealed enclosure. Sealed enclosures are used for tight, clean and accurate bass response, while ported boxes would be used for bass if you wanted to be heard a mile or so down the road, lol. Sealed boxes are more for SQ, while ported boxes are mainly for SPL. Due to the limited space that the c5 vettes have, it is hard to build a ported enclosure and still have room for the subs recommended airspace.

Volume in a stealth box is around 0.83 cu ft. A hangover box generally has around 0.93. With the 11kv.2 being only 5" deep, I can decrease the stealth box height to accomodate it's recommended airspace. I think the hangover box will be too big for the 11kv.2 sub, that is unless you go with a dual 11kv.2 sub setup.
