I think after reading this thread I'm close to pulling the trigger on a stealth enclosure for my '02 vert. But I need some help with selecting the correct sub or subs to go with it.
Like Jason mentioned above, I want clean, tight, musical bass. Not big, sloppy, splashy "how low can you go" bass.
So, one speaker or two? Also, do you make boxes that would fit two 8" subs and still leave room to mount my JL amp in the center recess? Or is that going to compromise the sound I'm looking for? TIA.

Image Dynamics 10" sub
I am looking at getting a stealth enclosure for my 2000 Corvette coupe. The sub I am looking at using is a single 10" Image Dynamics IDQ10D2v3. Does this sub work in a stealth box so I can use the OEM compartment cover on it without it "rubbing" and creating sound issues?

Ported boxes are usually used where space isn't a issue. They are usually bigger than the typically sealed enclosure. Sealed enclosures are used for tight, clean and accurate bass response, while ported boxes would be used for bass if you wanted to be heard a mile or so down the road,lol. Sealed boxes are more for SQ, while ported boxes are mainly for SPL. Due to the limited space that the c5 vettes have, it is hard to build a ported enclosure and still have room for the subs recommended airspace.
