PIONEER 6 3/4 Components tip - AIM those tweeters at your heads
I went with 6 3/4" Pioneer Exeleron Components. At first, they sounded good, but not great, crossovers were set at 0 db. But read on...
I then removed the door panels again, and aimed the tweeters at the driver and passenger with the included Pioneer plastic wedge thingies set at 45 degrees, and I also thought I would boost the crossovers to +3 db...but the crossovers didn’t need to be boosted at all. Dont forget to deaden the doors - I then stuck the whatever was left inclucing the scraps to the door behind the speaker.
The system sounded so much better it's almost UNREAL. Matter of fact, the system is absolutely FANTASTIC. The best I ever heard. And that's with NO SUBWOOFERS. Even the bass came more alive.
Movie Pearl Harbor when attacked sounded better than any movie house...the doors were absolutely rocking - pumping bass into my legs - it was absolutely mind boggling...really! Zeros flying overhead, behind you and crossing over, machine guns rattling off, the highs breathtaking...
I absolutely love these speakers and very happy - all coupled with the Kenwood 8120...what a load of fun!
They are even better than my AR 10pi speakers in my living room. I hear such sparkle and bass it's incredible. And the speakers appear to be beautifully well made. BUY THESE! A GREAT BUY!
If you have these speakers - or any tweeters, be sure to aim them (or have them redone) 45 degrees pointed at the driver. You wont regret it!!!
