Default Please help with install

Hey guys, I have a W505 and H701 on the way and was going to give it a shot myself to install. I don't see any threads on how to disassemable the console and front pieces without breaking anything. I'll sure this has been covered several times, I just can't find a detailed step by step play of this process. Any help here with an old thread of this procedure or some detail of what to do would be greatly appreciated

You might want to let us know what year Vette you have, would help a whole lot in knowing what you gotta do.

Oh yea, I have an 07 C6. I'll go ahead and tell you a litttle bit more about my install. I'm doing a two way setup using scanspeak's from the alpine F1 series. I have the alpine h701 for processing that's running from my alpine w505. The 2 amps are (1) a two way Tru copper tube amp @ 250 watts per channel. This one is going to the 7" driver. Then I have a Tru C7.4 which is a 4 channel amp running around 125 watts per channel. Two of these channels where going to the F1 alpine tweeters. Then I was going to bridge the other two channels for a claimed 500 watts to a 10" sub. Still haven't decided on the sub.... my choices are very limited for subs in a vert Thanks for your help

Click the link in my sig to the FAQ and my convertible install thread is in there. It gives detailed instructions for opening the console. It's very simple and it's pretty hard to manage to break something. The C6 is a very easy car to work on.

Think carefully what you'll be doing sub-wise. If you stuff a 10" sub in the trunk all you're going to get is a massive resonator. You uncouple of that from the rest of the sound system and all you get is a trunk going "boom boom boom" instead of a cohesive image. Your choices for doing that are VERY limited, pretty much either the JL 8's (which I have and aren't bad at all) or a seriously hardcore custom fibreglass setup.

Good luck!

Komoman, I have looked for your install thread under the FAQ section, wanting to check it out and for whatever reason I can't find where you're talking about..... could you help me a little more find your site?

Or if anyone else sees where Komoman is talking about showing a detail thread of his install incase he overlooks this and could lead me to it I would appreciate it so much. Dave your instructions are very helpful but I was wanting to look at some other installs before I begin mine. Thanks.....
