Thanks Nick. I checked with Sound Fx and no luck there. I'll probably just order online. I got a feeling I'm going to end up spending twice what I was planning on.

Anyway,I don't want to go over $400 for the front components.I have been looking on woofersetc.com for Focal and DLS pricing.
I can get you a set of either DLS UP, or UR 6.5's for under that price if you would like.

If it's a matter of trust, as you don't know me from Adam, I could send them off to you, and you pay me when you get them...

PM me if you are interested, and I'll check with my ex-sponsor for pricing.

Ok so after looking around,I've abandoned JL and MB and opted to go with either Focal,DLS, or Rainbow. You guys wanna point me in the right direction.

Tough to go wrong with those 3 options to be honest. The rainbow stuff was really good for a period of years (not familiar with the stuff from the last couple of years). DLS and Focal make very nice stuff. With the Focal stuff I personally prefer the Polykevlar cone, and the upper end tweets (TN 51 or TN 52, the latter being better). You can occasionally find the raw W cone drivers for pretty cheap, and pair that with a tweet of your choice.

I know the Iridium line from DLS pretty well, and I think they are quite good, I run their 3" dome mid in my car now and it is damn good. I trust spying with the UP/UR line recommendation.

If you can hear any of these to help you make up your mind for what sounds good to your ear, I would highly recommend it.

G'luck

Thanks Fej. Would any one else like to chime in on these?

I have some focal drivers in my car right now. I've used both JL and MB Quart in the past. I had top line Quarts back in the Germany days and mid-range JL's in the truck so comparing them would not be fair. Both were great products though. I've also had long experiences with high end sets from Pioneer Premier, ADS, Kicker and mid level sets from Alpine and Polk.

My current front is comprised of 6.5" Focal Polyglass mids, Kicker R25 1" silk dome tweeters. These are running active with a dedicated amplifier channel for each, crossed over at the pre-amp level, 18db at 3.5kHz. The doors are fully damped and the mids are mounted on MDF baffles. Tweeters are 4" above the mids and aimed towards each other. Each is getting 80 watts RMS.

This is the best front stage I've ever owned by a wide margin and one of the top five I've ever heard. I need a better head unit now, that's for sure. I did not care for the Focal tweeters as much as the woofers, too much breaking glass like sounds, too metalic sounding. I've always been a soft dome guy and the R25 tweets from Kicker are one of the best sounding tweeters ever made imho. The Focals, which make the system, are a very detailed, transparent and laid back driver. These are what your ears hear most and I like mine to not intrude on the music, just recreate it as closely as possible and stay out of the picture.

Anyway, good luck with your new speakers. If you find a used set I have some good information and photos telling how to determine real from fake, this is a common issue with Focals unfortunately.

Focal tweeters are very sensitive to install. TN51 for example, sounds beautiful when perfectly aimed. When not... Yeeegh.

Aloha Lance.

I spoke with my old sponsor today, and he's hurting business wise. He said that he'd get me a set of DLS UP6.5 i's with the new cast iron baskets for 300.00 shipped, and the UR6.5 i's for 375.00 shipped.

Sorry it took so long, and sorry the prices are a bit higher than I had anticipated.... I told him these were for a friend, as if I told him they were for my car, he would have showed up at my house unannounced to tune the new set-up, and I would have been busted.

It's not the deal that he would have given me personally, but I can guarantee you that they are real DLS speakers with warranty & serial numbers, not gray market boot legs.

If you would like, I'll send them to you at no charge, you install them, and pay me when you are "pau" (hawaiian for finished). If you don't like them, which would be an impossibility, simply ship them back to me, and I'll get rid of them locally.

Worse comes to worse, you are only out the shipping cost coming back to Hawaii....

I had the MB Q-series in my C5Z with a JL10W6 and two Audison amps (previously Alpine V-Series amps) and it sounded amazing! The separation of sound was phenomenal. Super crispy highs, great mid range and punchy base. I actually just sold the entire system to a fellow forum member today for a steal. My C6Z that I purchased with a system already in it ... has JL speakers, JL 10" sub and three JL 2-channel amps. IT was way more money than my C5 setup and doesn't come close to the sound I got out of the MB's. I am super sensitive to sound and can tell a huge difference. Everyone has there preferences ...I'm sure you will love whatever you get ... good luck and enjoy!
