I have a question about the $40 concealed display for the Valentine 1. For version 1.7 of the detectors it seems that somewhere during the production they added a "Stack of LED's" to identify which flavor of radar was hitting you. Is it possible to buy a 1.7 version of the V1 without these stack of LED's and use a remote display that has the stack?
My guess would be that there is only one V1, so you would get the LEDs. When you use the remote the V1 itself goes dark. Don't think the old ones would have the brains to control the remote LEDs anyway. :D
The latest remote with the band LED indicators will work on a version 1.7 receiver, but the band indicators will not be active , however, the flashing decimal point will indicate the band received just like the older remote display.
I emailed Valentine1 and confirmed this. It was a hope that maybe the lights would work.
