i use mdf some guys say it will absorb moisture etc but in the vette never seen an issue. lexan will work also some guys will pick up cheap plastic cutting boards and use that

in all the installs i do. 1/2" for the woofer and 1/4" mdf for the tweeter, should be able to pick up small 1/4 sheets at homedepot should be like 10-15 for both and have tons left over. spray paint em black and u will be good to go

i pulled speakers out of an 05 to put it back to stock so the guy could trade it in, i did the install in 05 with mdf plates car is driven basically year round except in heavy snow the plates were in great shape still

I live just south of Atlanta and could use some help tuning my system. I know I have more system then knowledge or ear for settings. All Eclipse and JL components in a 2004 Z06. Where will you be? Are you on a work assigment here?

I think that is a very generous offer. I have a bit of work related travel to catch up on the first part of January, I'd like to meet up with you maybe latter part of month or early February. I'll PM you my work number, McDonough is about 30 mi. from me and they built a Summit Racing store there that I have been wanting to visit
