Question about shallow subs...
I'd assume mounting a shallow to the seat itself would be out of the question?
The saying there is no replacement for displacement is absolute valid here, piston diameter and stroke are the basics for output, how the output sounds is comprised of many aspects I am not going to get into here as I need to get back to work but suffice it to say, all I ever heard in the past were sorely lacking in nearly all aspects of what a sub should do.
That is why I designed a full size 10" sub system to fit under Subaru seats years ago, it was such a tough project I made a mold and sold a ton of them before I just go to busy and then could not find a reliable shop or manf to make them for me(I have somebody that will start making them again soon)
There is nothing as good as a truly great sounding sub, in the cabin, crossover dialed in, up front bass fully integrated with the sound stage, until you have heard this you have not heard good bass in a car

For now though the rear center C5 or sideC6 10" solutions seem to be the way to go, they should be tunable to sound good, even in a Vert and I am going to buy an enclosure for our C6 to test, why reinvent the wheel if somebody is doing this right already
BUT, I will pick the sub or subs I will use in them, some just are not good enough no matter how big their name brand is
