Not to be condesending, but why would you want to keep the factory speakers and upgrade the head unit only?

Because to me, the bose speakers sound fine. I would just like to be able to plug in a 150 song MP3 disc and fugeddaboutit!!!.....That's why

So, All of these experts and no one can answer this question......

I'm no expert, nor shall I ever claim to be. There should be a way to supply a low level input to the bose control module from an aftermarket head unit. However some functions, ie speed volume control , may need to be looked into. Another method would be to run new wires straight from the Pioneer, to the bose door speakers, using passive capacitors and coils for frequency selection, and removing the in door amplifier for mounting room. There by bypassing the Bose control module and still retaining the bose speakers.

It’s called an “OEM” converter. It will cost you about $80 to $90. The converter allows you to play the Bose speakers with an aftermarket head unit but it is always a risky thing to do. Honestly you will be better off buying aftermarket speakers as well; eventually those Bose amps will go. Not to mention you will get much better sound quality from aftermarket speakers. If you're going to go aftermarket, may as well do the job right the first time. ;)

Hope this helps.
