My question is that since I am not installing a aftermaket amp then I would not be using the harness with the RCA connectors so I am not sure how to hook up this device, any help would be appreciated.
Maintaining the oem amp with an aftermarket HU is when the GLI's are needed most. The interface that plugs into the main harness should take the line-level signal from your new radio via the RCA plugs, connect the 'devices' between them (you need 2 for front/rear signals).

Hey I really appreciate your help, my lack of understand comes is that I am under the impression that since I am not adding a amp then I would not even use the interface cable with the RCA plugs on it just leave it off completely, but do I understant that I should use it and connect both ends of the GLIs to the RCA connectors coming out of the interface cable?
How about some details on the system... looks like your car is a C6?
Do you have a factory Bose system?.. Are you using any interface modules?.. What model HU are you installing?
I installed a new head unit using 2 PAC interface modules in my C6. I also installed an aftermarket amp to run a single sub... I have no whine what so ever and I didn't use any GLI's.

Sorry for the lack of details its a 2008 Coupe with no Bose, with On Star. Installing a Pioneer AVIC 120z and no additional components, no extra amp. Just a swap for the fractory HU with the Pioneer.
Have a noticeable static noise from the radio with out the engine running, Pioneer AVIC 120, 20008 Coupe, no bose. Do you think I need the GLI since this is not alt noise I am suspecting a ground problem any thoughts?
Also no alt noise that I can hear when the eng is running but I still have the seats out so have not driven the car but I can't hear any in park with the eng running, but lots of static when the sound is down, this happens as long as the unit is powered up.
